The 2019 Charter Oak Conference, held at the Mystic Hilton, provided the opportunity for President Mick Devanney to present the 2019 PA of the Year Award. In a moment of visible surprise for William Kohlhepp, DHSc, PA-C, President Devanney brought him to the stage to receive his honor after highlighting some of the many accomplishments achieved throughout Dr. Kohlhepp’s career.

The nomination letter included the following:

“My career as a PA started with an email from Bill, starting with ‘please excuse the informality of this email,’ and I think often how my life has changed as a result of that acceptance email. Throughout my time as both a PA student, and as a practicing PA, Bill has continually shown his dedication to the PA profession. Bill is past president of not only ConnAPA, but as AAPA, PAEA, and NCCPA, and continues to be a driving force for PA leadership. Whether listening to Bill talk at the AAPA House of Delegates, testifying at the Capitol, or running into him with his family at Disney World, Bill is a constant example of what is important both in medicine and in life. I can think of no one more deserving of the 2019 PA of the Year award, and it is my honor to nominate William Kohlhepp.”

Bill is incredibly deserving and ConnAPA appreciates all that he has done for the the PAs of Connecticut, and all that he continues to do!
