Dear Colleagues,
It is a great honor to step into the role of President of the Connecticut Academy of PAs, and I want to begin by recognizing the outstanding leadership of our immediate past president, Cayla Daniele. Over the past year, Cayla’s dedication was rooted in the spirit of unity. Her efforts were exemplified through the inaugural Northeast Regional PA Leadership Conference, which brought together leaders from nine state PA organizations across the Northeast to strengthen collaboration and share strategies to better serve our patients and communities. This proved to be so successful, that AAPA is looking to support another Northeast Regional PA Leadership in the near future!
As we begin this new leadership year, I am excited to share my vision and goals for ConnAPA. A top priority will be to strengthen the connections with our members. This will include creating measurable outcomes to track the progress that we are making in different areas and be able to share it with our members. By using metrics to evaluate progress, we can hold ourselves accountable and ensure our efforts are both transparent and effective.
Another goal will be to expand advocacy efforts to continue to advance the PA profession at the state level. This year 5 board members will be attending the Leadership and Advocacy Summit in Washington D.C, We are excited to hear and learn from their experiences.
Beyond these priorities, ConnAPA will continue to focus on building stronger partnerships with PA and professional health organizations across the region and supporting leadership development for students and early-career PAs, helping to build the next generation of leaders.
Looking ahead, I am particularly excited about our upcoming Strategic Planning Meeting in September, where we will reflect, reset, and reimagine our direction for the next five years. This will be a valuable opportunity to align our goals with the evolving needs of PAs and the communities we serve.
I am confident that with the passion and commitment of our members, ConnAPA is poised for another impactful year. Thank you for your continued support, and I look forward to working alongside each of you as we advance our profession together.
Warm regards,
Sheyla Marranca, PA-C
President, ConnAPA
