On the evening of November 30, 2022, ConnAPA held an open forum meeting of the membership to discuss advocacy efforts of the organization. The meeting concluded with a vote of the membership in attendance to update the Constitution & Bylaws of the organization. The updated language has made a change to the official name of the organization, and we are now known as the Connecticut Academy of Physician Associates to reflect the national efforts at title change for the profession.
Next, ConnAPA will take the necessary steps to change the name at the various administrative levels necessary for incorporation, financials, etc. This step makes sense to reflect current practice and brings the profession back to it’s roots, especially in Connecticut where Yale has a long history of graduating students from their Physician Associate Program.
