Biography

My name is Courtney Murray. I was born and raised in Milford, CT. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of South Carolina and my Master in Physician Assistant Studies from Sacred Heart University where I was a Class Officer and inducted into the Pi Alpha Honor Society. I have been a practicing PA with the Hospitalist Service at Yale New Haven Health since April 2021 and am in the process of joining the Hospital Procedure Team. I became a member of ConnAPA during PA school and my experiences with leadership at the student level inspired me to get more involved in ConnAPA following graduation. I have served on the Conference and Education Committee since 2021, joined the Board of Directors as Director at Large in 2022, and have been involved in multiple committees including Audit and Financial Review; Communications and Outreach; and Constitution, Bylaws, & Policy. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, exploring local wineries & breweries, and traveling anywhere that I can find palm trees and a good book.

Platform Statement

It would be my honor to be selected as a delegate to the AAPA House of Delegates for ConnAPA. In my first few years as a practicing PA, I have seen how far our profession has come but also how important it is that we continued to strive and advocate for a growing future. With the rapid changes that we continue to see in medicine, especially in a post-COVID medicine field, it is important that PAs are always at the forefront of innovation. We pride ourselves on being trained across specialties and settings, and maintaining a strong state and national presence through ConnAPA and AAPA allows PAs to continue to advocate for the PA profession, endorse ourselves and one another, and build upon our opportunities to improve patient care.

I have had the honor of meeting a myriad of influential PAs, those both early and established in their careers, over the past several years both starting out in my career and working with ConnAPA. There are so many remarkable PAs who have blazed a trail for our profession, but there are always new strides to be taken. We have made great progress over the past few years with our work toward Title Change by changing the title of our organization to Connecticut Academy of Physician Associates, and I would love to continue to bring our progressive nature to AAPA as a delegate to the HOD. We have also worked to expand our reach to PAs across Connecticut and neighboring states by expanding our access in the community and our online presence so more voices can be heard. I would like to represent ConnAPA at the HOD to ensure that we continue to have a seat at the table to advocate at the individual, state, and national level.
