Physician Assistants, PAs, practice medicine in every specialty on healthcare teams in collaboration with physicians and other medical providers. PAs are nationally certified and state licensed. PAs are required to participate in 100 hours continuing medical education every two years to maintain their certification. There are more than 100,000 PAs in the United States, and 2,117 currently licensed PAs in Connecticut. PAs are consistently named one of the most in demand careers by multiple news sources with excellent potential for job growth into the future.
ConnAPA is Connecticut’s state academy which represents all practicing PAs. We have lobbyists working directly in the legislature daily to make sure that PA practice remains PA friendly in our state. We also offer one of the region’s best conferences each spring, the annual Charter Oak Conference. Our board is made up of practicing PAs, many of whom are graduates of local PA programs.
