CT PAF Run for Education, Jennings Beach, Fairfield, CT
Saturday June 21 and Sunday June 22, 2014:
In an effort to raise money for the CT PA Foundation, PA students from each of the three CT PA programs participated in the CT PAF Run for Education, which took place during the Stratton Faxon Half Marathon and 5K in Fairfield, CT. On Saturday June 21, two PA students from the University of Bridgeport and Rick Pope, the CT PA Foundation President, participated in the 5-K. On Sunday June 22, fourteen PA students participated in the Half Marathon. Eight Quinnipiac students and six Yale students ran the half marathon. The runners could not have asked for better weather for the weekend or for a better course. The runners were able to enjoy scenic views of Long Island Sound and enjoy the support of fellow PA students Hannah Holland (Yale) and Lauren Collin (Yale) who acted as the cheering section! The runners enjoyed a much needed stretch and celebration on Jennings Beach after finishing each race!
Saturday: Brett Healy (UB), Ally (UB), Rick Pope (CT PAF President)
Sunday: Liz Murray (QU), Mike Panciera (QU), Jill Strassner (QU), Arielle Curzman (QU), Mark Murphy (QU), Frank Pino (QU), Allie Vitale (QU), Meghan Kelly (QU), Kristi Schuette (Yale), Sam Werner (Yale), Sam DelNegro (Yale), Kali O’Dell (Yale), Camille Dupont (Yale), Hunter Paddock (Yale).
The overall goal of this event was to raise money for the CT PA Foundation so they could continue to support PA students during their education. To date, the total amount of money raised from this event is well over $4,200 with more donations still waiting to clear!
Congratulations to the PAF and all the student participants for pulling off such a successful event!
