Members of the ConnAPA board attended the Leadership and Advocacy Summit presented by the AAPA March 14th – 16th in Alexandria, VA.
As part of this conference they spent a day on Capital Hill meeting with staff from the House of Representatives and Senate, i
ncluding Senators Blumenthal & Murphy along with congressmen Jim Himes and John Larson.
They discussed several key bills that would help improve access to care for patients, decrease burdensome administrative costs, and advance the PA profession at the federal level. The two bills address included the ability of PAs to certify the need for diabetic shoes for patients and the direct reimbursement to PAs for services billed through Medicare.
