Connecticut Academy of PAs to Support PA Students Running for National Office
Bloomfield, Conn., January 30, 2020
The Connecticut Academy of PAs (ConnAPA) is excited to announce a new plan to support student leaders running for positions on AAPA’s Student Academy Board of Directors, empowering students to take on new leadership opportunities and expand their education. ConnAPA will support student leaders by covering the registration fee for up to three students running for Student PA Leadership positions at the 2020 AAPA national convention in Nashville, TN.
ConnAPA President Mark Turczak explains, “We see this as an investment in future generations of PAs who will one day lead our profession at state and national levels. We hope other con-stituent organizations see the benefits of fostering student growth and will follow our commitment to advancing the future of our profession.”
Current Northeast Regional Director on the Student Academy Board of Directors Ashton Ogle shares, “Student involvement at the national level prepares us for a future in advocacy and leadership. ConnAPA’s support and investment eases the financial burden for students attending conference and running for a national leadership position.”
Elections for the Student Academy Board of Directors will take place at the Assembly of Representatives (AOR) meeting during the AAPA Conference in May 2020 in Nashville. Elected board positions include President-elect, Director of Outreach, Director of Student Communications, Chief Delegate, six Regional Directors, and a PA Foundation Student Representative.
ConnAPA is a constituent chapter of the AAPA with the goal of rendering loyal and honest service to the medical profession and public by developing education programs and promoting the physician assistant profession in the state of Connecticut.
